Why Mock Marking Is Valuable
Mock assessments are about more than a score.
They help families:
- understand where a student is currently working
- identify gaps before they become barriers
- focus revision time effectively
- reduce uncertainty and exam anxiety
Many families find this particularly reassuring during key points in the GCSE year.
When to Use the Service
Mock assessments are recommended at the following points:
- June – to assess September starting point.
- November – to identify strengths and gaps early in the GCSE year
- February – to refine revision and focus ahead of the exam period
Families may access the service more frequently if they wish, subject to availability.
Pricing
Full GCSE Mock Assessment (3 papers): £150
This reflects the time, expertise, and care involved in accurately marking three full GCSE papers and producing meaningful diagnostic feedback.
Booking & Availability
Mock marking is available throughout the year, subject to capacity.
To help families plan, recommended mock windows are offered in June, November and February, as these align well with GCSE preparation and revision timelines. During these periods, a larger number of mock assessments can be accommodated.
Outside of these windows, mock marking may still be booked, depending on availability.
Capacity & Fair Access
- During recommended mock windows, up to 50 full mock assessments may be accepted.
- Places are allocated on a first-come basis.
- Once capacity is reached, booking will close for that period.
- Families are welcome to join a waiting list if places become available.
Priority booking may be offered to students enrolled in live classes.
Turnaround Time
- Feedback is returned within 10 working days
- During peak periods, turnaround may be up to 15 working days
- Turnaround times will always be confirmed at booking
Submission Requirements
- All three papers must be submitted together
- Papers should be clearly scanned or photographed
- Illegible or incomplete submissions may delay feedback
Important Notes
- This service provides assessment and guidance, not live teaching
- It does not include follow-up tutoring, re-marking, or ongoing support
- Feedback focuses on diagnosis and next steps rather than rewriting full solutions
If You’re Not Sure Yet
Choosing GCSE support is an important decision. If live classes aren’t the right fit, mock marking can still provide valuable reassurance and direction.
Families are also welcome to explore the free independent study resources available through Miss Murray’s Mission.
Mock marking availability
Mock marking is available year-round, with recommended booking windows in November and February. Availability outside these windows depends on capacity.
My aim is always to provide honest, thoughtful guidance so families can move forward with confidence
