About

Miss Murray’s Mission was created from both professional experience and personal passion and conviction.

I have spent 18 years teaching GCSE Mathematics, most recently as an Assistant Principal, supporting students through some of the most challenging moments of their education. Over that time, I’ve seen how easily capable students can lose confidence when learning becomes rushed, impersonal, or driven by pressure rather than understanding.

Alongside my professional role, I am also a mum of three to a 17 year old son and 14 month old twins and I understand first-hand the realities families face when trying to balance learning, wellbeing, and life.

One of my closest and oldest friends home educates all three of her children and she is just a complete super hero in my eyes. I have seen the care, courage, and commitment it takes to step outside of the traditional school system, particularly at GCSE level.

My Mission

My mission is to use my years of knowledge and expertise to support the brave, committed families who are home educating their children while trying to navigate the complexities of GCSE Maths.

GCSE Maths can feel overwhelming — not just academically, but emotionally — especially for families working independently. I have seen how confusing the qualification can be, how misconceptions can go unnoticed, and how confidence can be lost when students don’t receive the right support at the right time.

Miss Murray’s Mission exists to offer clarity, structure, and reassurance.

I do this by sharing my advice and insights openly through vlogs, helping parents understand GCSE Maths, common misconceptions, and effective ways to support learning at home.

I also provide free resources, including a structured GCSE Maths Scheme of Work linked to trusted, high-quality materials. This is designed for families who are studying independently and want a clear pathway to follow without feeling lost or overwhelmed.

Alongside this, I offer small-group online GCSE Maths classes for families who want structured teaching that aligns with the expectations of the GCSE course. These classes mirror the consistency of school-based learning while remaining calm, supportive, and responsive to individual needs through targeted teacher intervention.

In addition, I offer a mock marking and diagnostic feedback service. This supports both students in live classes and families working independently, providing a clear picture of current working level, strengths, and next steps. It allows families to make informed decisions about learning and revision without guesswork.

My Approach

At the heart of everything I do is a belief that students learn best when they feel safe, supported, and understood. I have seen first hand how the school system is not the right fit for certain students and how they get left behind. I am passionate abut providing support for those working from home to support students lacking in confidence, suffering from anxiety or with needs the school system has not been able to cater for due to teaching varying levels of need on a large scale. Maths anxiety in particular is a very real issue that many suffer from and I have often heard ‘I am no good at Maths’ or ‘I can’t do Maths’ and this is a perception I aim to support parents and students to change.

My teaching is rooted in:

  • clear explanation and modelling
  • consistent lesson structure
  • careful checking of understanding
  • targeted support where it’s needed
  • steady development of confidence and exam skills

I believe that students can be highly successful outside of the conventional system when families are supported, informed, and empowered.

Miss Murray’s Mission is not about quick fixes or shortcuts. It is about building understanding, confidence, and exam readiness over time — with honesty, care, and integrity at the centre.

My goal is to be a reliable source of knowledge and support for home-educating families, helping students succeed in GCSE Maths with confidence and clarity.
